Lake Bernard Park Website & Logo Redesign
Introduction/Objective: The objective of the Lake Bernard Park website redesign project was to improve the website and logo. The client wanted a modern, visually appealing, and functional website that would attract potential customers and provide comprehensive information about accommodations, activities, services and more. Strategy/Methodology: Several key issues were identified with the original website. Firstly, it was not responsive, resulting in a poor appearance on tablets and mobile devices. Secondly, it did not comply with specific accessibility standards, which posed potential legal concerns. Thirdly, the navigation was not intuitive, making it challenging for users to find relevant pages. Additionally, the text-dominated style was considered outdated, failing to align with the brand identity and design principles. Lastly, the absence of visually appealing calls-to-action (CTAs) detracted from the overall user experience. To resolve these issues, the redesign focused on transforming the text-heavy content into compelling graphics. The goal was to create a user-friendly, accessible, and visually appealing website that not only addresses the previous shortcomings but also elevates the overall user experience. The process began with redesigning the logo, determining the primary colors and font for the brand identity, which were then seamlessly applied to the website. Solution/Contribution: To improve user experience, the website was designed with the right amount and size of grids, buttons, customized forms, scalable images, and legible fonts that maintained clarity across various sizes of devices. Rigorous testing was conducted to ensure optimal results. Accessibility was prioritized by utilizing accessibility checkers to identify and provide clear instructions for resolving any issues. In addition, the redesign incorporated white space, calls-to-action (CTAs), page speed optimization, information architecture organization, and effective hyperlinks to enhance usability and convenience. Results/Impact: The outcome of these efforts was a new website that the client was thoroughly satisfied with. It met and exceeded their expectations, providing a user-friendly, accessible, and visually appealing platform that effectively attracts potential customers and provides comprehensive information about accommodations, activities, services and more.
