Personal Branding
Introduction/Objective: For my Personal Branding project, I created a logo, logo reveal, brand guidelines, and business materials that showcased my skills and represented me as a designer. I wanted something that would make me stand out and be memorable to potential clients. My inspiration came from my initials, which are “C”, “M”, and “F”. I wanted to incorporate the concept of opening and closing a box because I believe that design is all about opening up new possibilities and closing the gap between the client's vision and the final product. Strategy/Methodology: To create the logo, I used Adobe Illustrator. I started by sketching out some rough ideas and then began refining them until I had a design that I was happy with. I created a font that was modern and clean, with a heart shape to give it some personality. I also chose a red colour that was bold and eye-catching, with black that complemented each other nicely. Once I had the basic design in place, I turned my attention to the logo reveal motion. I wanted something that would be dynamic and engaging, so I decided to use 3D rotation to showcase the shapes of my initials swinging, appearing and disappearing. I used Adobe After Effects to create the reveal and spent a lot of time adjusting the animation to match the music. In addition to the logo and logo reveal, I also created guidelines for how the logo should be used. These guidelines include specifications for colours, fonts, and applications. I also created a tessellation pattern to enhance the "box" concept, which creates an eye-catching 3D illusion. The pattern can be used as a background or as an accent on marketing materials, such as business cards or social media posts. Results/Impact: Overall, I'm really happy with how my Personal Branding project turned out. I think that the logo and logo reveal are both memorable and engaging, and I'm excited to start using them in my design work.
