The goal of this project was to shoot photographs for different scenarios. To understand the fundamental usage of shutter speed, practicing with the properties of light and experimenting with different exposure lengths is very important. Although the more time the flashlight spent the less time I had to work on my graffiti, I noticed short flashlight time could cause a dark image, and leaving the shutter open for too long could cause an overexposed image. Focusing is also essential to avoid a blurry image. Pre-focusing on the part of the image where I intended to do the light painting first, and then switch to manual focus (MF) so the focus stays put throughout the exposure.
